“Buried by the Roan” book signing today

MEEKER I The fate of the Roan Plateau and the controversy over energy development are at the heart of “Buried by the Roan,” a mystery by Denver-based writer Mark Stevens. Stevens will be at Wendll’s Wondrous Things today for a book signing from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
“Buried by the Roan” is the second in the Allison Coil mystery series, set in the Flat Top Wilderness and surrounding communities of Meeker and Glenwood Springs. “Antler Dust,” the first in the series, drew terrific reviews.
In “Buried by the Roan,” one of Allison Coil’s clients turns up dead on the shore of Oyster Lake, deep in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area. Buffalo ranch owner Josh Keating apparently died following a drunken, late-night stumble on a sub-zero night but Coil learns he was in the middle of a bitter feud with a world-class environmental zealot, a man who was also his neighbor.
Stevens has worked in school public relations in Denver and Greeley and was also a reporter for the Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News and the Christian Science Monitor. He has also worked as a field producer for “The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour.” Stevens is married and has two daughters.
