MEEKER (AP) — A police officer who shot and killed a man while responding to a report of a domestic disturbance was once named in an excessive force lawsuit that was settled, The Daily Sentinel reported.
Lt. Glenn Wilson is on routine administrative leave after the shooting of Valley Motel owner Chris Boudreaux, 35, at the motel March 28.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the shooting.
In 2003, when Wilson worked for the Mesa County sheriff’s office, he arrested a man who later filed a lawsuit alleging he suffered injuries to his “back, neck, arms, legs and psyche” in the arrest, The Daily Sentinel reported.
The county settled the lawsuit filed by Dennis Lee Jones, according to federal court records, which did not disclose terms.
