More than 25 Meeker Elementary School kids, parents, family members and even pets showed up Saturday to run/walk a 5K, as part of MES teacher Vicky Tate’s physical education class and 100 Mile Club program. Tate said more than 60 elementary students have accepted the challenge of walking 100 miles during the school year, before, after and during recess and lunch, and families can join in during organized community walks/runs, like Saturday. Tate said she has a few kids who have already recorded more than 60 miles. More information can be seen at www.100mileclub.com.
