141 degrees awarded at CNCC

RANGELY I The 2014 CNCC Commencement was held on the CNCC Rangely Campus on Saturday.
Including the Rangely and Craig campuses and service areas, CNCC had 141 students awarded degrees with 86 students walking on stage to receive their diplomas.
The 2014 graduating class filled roughly half of the Colorado Room in the Weiss Building on Rangely’s Colorado Northwestern Community College campus on Saturday as 141 degree or certificates were awarded to the students. Friends, family and CNCC supporters filled the back half of the room as the commencement exercise produced a full house.

Graduating students, along with faculty, staff and family members, gathered in the Weiss Colorado Room to watch students shine with their accomplishments.
Mark Patterson, a CNCC dental hygiene director and instructor along with his wife, Barbara, gave speeches as honored faculty members.
Both of the Pattersons are retiring this summer after 30 and 20 years, respectively, with CNCC’s dental hygiene program.
Craig Student Government President Diana Ransberger and Rangely Student Government President Devon Vondette also addressed the crowd.

Presiding on stage for the ceremony were CNCC President Russell George; the Honorable Jean White, member of the Colorado State Board; Richard Haslem, CNCC board of control chairman; Teri Wilczek, the CNCC board of trustees chairwoman; and Dr. David Smith, vice president of Instruction and Student Services at CNCC.
The commencement ceremony was followed by a reception provided by Sodexo for all the graduates and their families as well as CNCC staff members who participated in the graduation event.
