MEEKER I Nineteen teams endured the heat on Saturday to play in the annual Main Street Madness 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, in which six teams won championships in three different age divisions.
Kynlee Thorton, Greta Robinson, Julia Dinwiddie and McKenna Burke, known as 2 T Ballers, won the grade 6-8 girls’ division, while Team Lightning, consisting of Cole Rogers, Ryan Phelan, Nate Whitaker and Jared Whitaker won the boys’ division in the same age group.
Meeker High School varsity players Maggie Phelan and Reese Pertile were joined by incoming freshmen Megan Shelton and the Luce twins and won the female, grade 9-12 division.
Playing under the name of Profound Sadness, Maxwell Ruane, Granger Russell and Sean Jannes won the male, grade 9-12 division.
Meeker High School alums Sydney Hughes and Piper Haney not only won the 5K walk earlier in the day, they also teamed up with Taylor Neilsen and Aly Ridings to make up the “Fab 4 Females” to capture first place in the 18-and-over division.
Team S&H, consisting of Bradon Sanders, Helaman and Bryson Haynie, along with Gannon Walser won the male division.
