MEEKER | The Meeker version of the Elks National Hoop Shoot was held Friday, Nov. 18 at the MHS gym. Twenty area youth participated in the free throw event. The top two finishers in each age group will advance to the Rifle competition on Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. at the Rifle Middle School. In the girls’ division, Reese Clatterbaugh topped the field in the 8-9 age bracket. In the 10-11 bracket, Jayde Turner was first and Abbi Schwartz placed second. The boys’ division featured three different age brackets. In the 8-9 division, Sam Hightower was first, followed by Trent Sanders, Matthew Willey, Wil Schwartz, Skylar Browning, Tucker Chinn, Mason Allen and Augie Halstead. Teagan Sheridan placed first in the 10-11 age bracket and was followed by Ryan Sullivan, Clay Randall, Hayden Shults, Brendan Clatterbaugh and Tyler Sanders. Dax Sheridan was first in the 12-13 age bracket, followed by Ryan Phelan and Hampton Hightower.
