RANGELY I More than 200 readers teamed up to read 3,000 books during the Rangely Regional Library’s Summer Reading Program.
To celebrate, the program’s success, the library held its summer reading carnival, which was attended by 170 children and parents.
The carnival featured pony rides, cotton candy, musical chairs, balloon tying, bingo, duck ring toss, octopus ring toss, air pinball, milk jug toss, face painting and tic-tac-toe. Hundreds of prizes were awarded.
Rangely High School Student Council members helped set up and tear down the carnival, in addition to running the booths. Also, library director Amorette Hawkins recognized Connie Skelton and Vivian Green for making an “endless amount of cotton candy” and thanked Kim Ewalt and Jeanie Peterson for providing the ponies and “endless rides.”
The theme for the Summer Reading Program was “Be Creative at Your Library.”
