The 2011 high school golf season has started and both Rio Blanco County high schools have teams and both already have tournament experience. Some of that experience was gained on the Meeker Golf Course Tuesday, in a high school tournament featuring teams from Craig, Steamboat Springs, Aspen, Cedaredge, Rangely and Meeker. The only Rio Blanco County senior on either team, Trey Morris proved to be the best golfer on his home course, winning the tournament with a 9-over par 77. Steamboat Springs won the team title.

Playing for the Rangely Panthers this year are Marshal Way, James Scoggins, Robert Dunker, John Coleman, Andrew Morton and coach Simon Boudreaux. Chris Staley is not pictured.
