2013 Colorado State Track and Field Championships

Rangely was represented at the 2013 Colorado State Track and Field Championships by assistant coach James Kurrasch, head coach Stephanie Kahler, Holly Lepro, Andrew Morton, Colton Coombs, Connor Phelan, Colt Allred, Mitchell Webber, Chelsea Ficken and William Scoggins.

Meeker was represented at the state track meet held in Jefferson County Stadium in Denver by Caleb Lange, Sydney Hughes, Tala Atoafa, Aly Ridings and Linda Olivas in the front row, and in the back row Tommy Chitwood, T.J. Shelton, Jake Phelan, Taylor Ahrens, Aaron Cochran, Anthony Watt, Jordan Brown, Bailey Atwood and Jeff Wagner.

William Scoggins finished 11th in the 3,200-meter run and ran the 1,600 in 4:41.41, a personal best this season for the Panther senior.

Meeker sophomore Sydney Hughes’ final triple jump was her best by a foot and landed her on the podium in seventh place.

Meeker senior Tala Atoafa and Rangely junior Andrew Morton finished sixth and fifth respectively in the 110-meter hurdles.

RHS graduate Leslie Kurtz, a two-time state shot put champ, talks with Holly Lepro between discus throws. Lepro broke Kurtz’ school discus record this season, which had stood since 2000.

Rio Blanco County was well represented in the 100-meter dash.

Rio Blanco County seniors Bailey Atwood of Meeker and Holly Lepro of Rangely earned eighth- and fifth-place medals, respectively, in the discus event.

Meeker freshman T.J. Shelton was the fastest 2A male in the Colorado State Track and Field Championships, and Rangely senior Colton Coombs was fourth.
