The Meeker Cowboy wrestling team qualified eight for the 2013 Colorado State Wrestling Championship and placed eighth as a team with one state champion and two fifth place finishers. Qualifying this year were Aaron Cochran (126), J.C. Henderson (132), TJ Shelton (160), J.R. Crawford (170), Kylloe Goedert (120), Tristin Pelloni (113) and Devon Pontine (152), with Anthony Watt (138) in front.
The Rangely Panthers qualified four wrestlers for the “Big Show” last weekend in the Pepsi Center and returned with one state medal. Rangely seniors Drew Collins and Colton Coombs, along with junior Lucas Heinle and sophomore Ethan Allred wrestled in the 2013 Colorado State Wrestling Championships.
