Despite an unseasonably warm start to spring, Mother Nature reminded Rio Blanco County residents that it may be too chilly yet for shorts and sandals. A dusting of snow across Rangely on Saturday morning was followed by several days of more typical spring weather.

Panthers run, jump, throw
RANGELY I The Rangely Panthers track and field team traveled to Grand Junction’s Stocker Stadium on Saturday to run, jump and throw in the Mickey Dunn Invitational.

Kids’ health fairs set in county

Amanda Fausett, an emergency medical technician, draws Mara Wagner’s blood at the Rangely Community Health Fair blood pre-draw over the weekend at Rangely District Hospital. Roughly 300 people had their blood drawn in preparation for the health fair on April 20.

MEEKER I Perhaps the greatest quality of the people who homesteaded the White River valley in the early 1900s to make a life for themselves was perseverance. The second greatest quality was their innovative methods for earning money.

Ladies play in all-state game
