Counterfeit bills circulating in Rangely area
RANGELY I Last week, the Rangely Area Chamber of Commerce announced that counterfeit $20 bills had been located in Rangely, and, according to chamber director Kristen Steele, similar fraudulent money has been reported in Vernal, Utah, as well.
Rangely horsewoman excels at Billings vs. six other colleges
RANGELY I A horsewoman from Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely excelled in her horsemanship skills over the weekend as she placed in six events in three different horse shows over Saturday and Sunday in Billings, Mont. She also took two top honors competing as a one-person team.

MEEKER I The Meeker High School volleyball team finished its regular season with a win on Saturday as they beat Hotchkiss, putting them in fourth place for this weekend’s district volleyball tournament.

Night at Hogwarts an educational, funding success
RANGELY I Parkview Elementary School’s third annual Night at Hogwarts saw its highest turnout to date as approximately 350 children and adults, including families from Meeker, Vernal and Grand Junction, attended the fundraiser Friday night.
Cowboy gridders pound Grand Valley 55-8; big game Friday
MEEKER I After a 55-8 pounding of the Grand Valley Cardinals on Friday in Parachute, the Meeker Cowboys will host the Hotchkiss Bulldogs in Starbuck Stadium in the final game of the regular season. The game will have league and playoff implications.
