21 Meeker youths take part in triathlon at Meeker Rec Center

MEEKER I Twenty-one youth from Meeker and the surrounding areas competed in the ERBM Recreation & Park District’s Road Rash ‘n’ Splash Kids Triathlon on Saturday at the Meeker Recreation Center.
Each of the individuals and teams competed in swimming, biking, and running.

The boys and girls were split by age divisions, with the youngest participants completing shorter distances and the competition distances increasing as ages increased.
Beast Mode, a boys’ team of 11- and 12-year-olds Case and Chakwah Brink, took first with a time of 30:28.
The Tri Kids, a coed team of 9- and 10-year-olds Jonan and Rayna VonRoenn and Abel Ketchen, was first with a time of 13:34.
The TTC Team, a boys’ team of 9- and 10-year-olds Trent and Tyler Sanders and Connor Rose, was first with a time of 18;33.
Colby Clatterbaugh won the boys’ 13-14-year-old race with a time of 34:10.
Haley Knowles won the girls’ 11-12-year-old race with a time of 30:12; second place was taken by Kate Lockwood with a time of 31:07; third place went to Emma Luce with a time of 34:10.
Reece Clatterbaugh took first place in the girls’ 9-10 year-old division with a time of 13:22; while second place went to Ellie Hossack with a time of 20:52.
Brendan Clatterbaugh took first place in the boys’ 9-10 year-old race with a time of 16:15.
Addison Knowles won the girls’ 7-8 year-old race with a time of 10:11; second place was taken by Raegan Clatterbaugh with a time of 23:03; and third went to Jacey Follman with a time of 24:04.
Sam Conrado captured first place in the boys’ 7-8 year-old race with a time of 19:28; second place went to Tucker Chinn in a time of 19:50; and third place went to Dexter Chinn with a time of 24:23.
