MEEKER I The 32nd annual White River Golf Tournament is now signing up players for the two-day event, slated for June 16-17 at Meeker Golf Course.
The tournament, sponsored by the White River Electric Association, will utilize a four-person team scramble format, and Thursday activities, which begin at 6 p.m. will include registration, team introduction, a cash bar and, at 7 p.m., dinner, a team calcutta and a drawing for a flat screen television.
On Friday, the fun begins at 8 a.m. with the purchase of skins and a captain’s meeting with the tournament beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
There will be cash prizes for first, second and third places and a $50 prize for the most colorful golf pants. There will also be prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin as well as many other prizes.
The $65 per-player entry fee includes Thursday dinner, cart and greens fees, range balls, a sack lunch and breakfast burrito or cinnamon roll. The entry fee is due along with registration on Friday, June10.
All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Barone Middle School Volunteer Art Program.
