Sheep and goat report
By Macy Collins
MEEKER | The sheep and goat club met with the beef and pig clubs on March 13. The meeting began at 6:08 p.m., when Taylor Neilson called the meeting to order. Kolbi Franklin led the pledges. The club secretaries took roll call followed by the treasurer’s report.
Sam Bailey summarized the last meeting. Shelby Burke gave a council report.
June 25 is the Meeker Jackpot. We will need lots of help putting it on. The next meeting will be April 17.
We then separated into our own clubs. The sheep and goat club played Jeopardy.
White River swine report
By Dayton Willey
MEEKER | This week’s meeting we talked about a lot of things with 4-H leader Todd Morris and our president Nate Walsh.
At the 4-H council meeting on March 13 we learned what we need to look for in a pig and how much feed does each pig need to eat by the time fair is here. The next thing is how much should each pig gain in one day, which is about two or three pounds per day. We also learned how to keep our pigs wormed every month, as well as what side the pig hut should be on in our pens.
Thank you very much.  Make sure you read the next swine report. Our next meeting is on April 17, 2011.
Meeker 4-H beef report
By Jenna Walsh
MEEKER | The beef meeting this month was very brief, we started at 12:24 and weighed and tagged our steers. Then we went inside for roll call as usual.
After we officially started the meeting we did demonstrations by splitting into two groups, each answering questions on a poster board related to the record books.
Lunch was provided for the parents, leaders and members. We also presented our demonstrations off the poster board.
The last few subjects we mentioned were our next meeting with a clipping demonstration by Blaine Franklin and the Beef Expo in Greeley.
Our February meeting ended at 1:05 p.m.
