5K features more than 100 runners for Capitol Christmas Tree walk/run

More than 100 walkers and runners participated in the 5K last Saturday. Rio Blanco County high school athletes Jake Boesch of Meeker and Rangely’s Tessa Slagle were the first male and female runners to cross the finish line.


MEEKER I The first ever Capitol Christmas Tree 5K walk/run race featured 105 participants and was won by Meeker High School junior Jake Boesch, who just last week competed in the Colorado State Championship cross country meet. Rangely’s Tessa Slagle was the first female to cross the line on the same course the Range Call Run for Your Life 5K uses. The first male and female winners of each class are listed below.
