Going into district play on Dec. 1 in Rangely, the Cowboys seventh grade boys basketball A team has a record of 4-5 and the B team is 7-1.
“The boys are doing very good this year,” said head coach Dylan Mobley, “The seventh grade group is definitely talented but they have needed a lot of work to improve their basketball skills.”
As a team they are getting better at playing together, specifically playing basketball together. Mobley cites two main areas of improvement: “how to pass the ball as a team and playing good defense.”
The district tournament will find the boys playing Craig and Steamboat, who “will be tough with their height and size,” Mobley said. “We are going to have to play good defense and shoot the ball well. If we can do those things then we will give ourselves a chance to win.”
