The 9Health Fair is a community partnership with 9Health Fair, Rio Blanco Fire Protection District, Pioneers Medical Center and the Meeker Lions Club.
Screenings this year include the 31 component blood chemistry, which analyzes major organ functions, at a cost of $30. A Complete Blood Count will be available at a cost of $15, as well as a Prostate Specific Antigen screening for men at a cost of $25 and a colon cancer screening kit for $20.
A new screening this year will analyze Vitamin D levels and is available at a cost of $40. Payments for these may be made by check written to the 9Health Fair. Participants can also access screenings such as finger stick glucose, skin, vision, blood pressure, and breast exams.
Lab supervisor Kris Borchard emphasizes the importance of preparing for the blood draw, encouraging everyone to drink lots of water the evening before and the morning of the 9Health Fair. Also, remember not to eat anything for 12 hours before.
Diabetics should not fast and participants should continue to take prescribed medications.
Rangely will host its 9Health Fair April 30 at the EEC Building at 402 Main St., from 7 a.m. until noon.
