All-state football

The 2013 Colorado 6/8-man all-state football game will take place May 31 at La Junta High School’s Tiger Stadium. Rangely’s Chas Byerly was nominated by league coaches and selected to play in the game showcasing Colorado seniors. Byerly, pictured running in a state playoff game, was voted the team’s MVP after coming back from a season-ending injury his junior year. “Chas came back with a vengeance and was a huge reason we had such a successful season,” head football coach Paul Fortunato said. “I am truly proud of Chas and know he is going to do good things, just like he did for us this year in football.” The kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. under the Friday night lights.
