RBC | Looking for a change of pace next year? Want to spend more time outside? Apply now for a summer 2017 job with the Forest Service.
The Rocky Mountain Region is hiring nearly 900 temporary positions across 17 national forests and seven national grasslands located in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Temporary positions are available in a variety of occupations such as fire, trails, forestry, engineering, wildlife, recreation, fisheries, archaeology and administrative support.
Lynn Lockwood with the Blanco Ranger District said while she is not certain how many positions the district will be offering in 2017, they would like to hire locals.
“The application process takes time, we’d like to encourage people to begin applying now,” she said.
Applications for wildland fire and other early seasonal positions will be accepted Jan. 4-11. Applications for recreation, fisheries, wildlife, forestry, engineering, administration and other positions will be accepted Feb. 1-7. Check the website for details on how to apply at bit.ly/2h8bjmD.
