Lady Panthers start out well, but fail to advance from pool play at state
RANGELY — Rangely Lady Panthers concluded their season last weekend at the state tournament. I thought the weekend went well, but not as well as I would have liked it.
We played our first match against Colorado Springs really well. We were competitive and were the only team in our pool to take them four games.
We followed up with Sangre de Cristo, a team that we should have beat. However, with the momentum swings and things not going exactly like we would like, we lost 3-0 with a total of 11 points; we definitely did not play up to our potential.
We finished our pool play with Resurrection Christian on Saturday morning, another match I thought that we could win. However, we were not aggressive and in attack mode all the time. We lost 3-1.
I am very proud of my girls for their accomplishments this season, they came a long way from day one in August. I am sad to lose my seniors; but excited for the next couple of years with the potential in the younger girls that I saw throughout the season. I would like to thank all of the parents and fans in the Rangely community for being so supportive of our team.
