Beef Club, Sheep and Goat Growers meet

Sheep and Goat Growers: Morgan called the April 5 meeting to order. Taylor called roll and no minutes were read. Mason reported that we have $412.76 after we paid for advertising the jackpot. April 6 will be officer training at 5 p.m. We went over how to pick lambs and judged some pictures. The weigh-in and tagging is May 5. We will only be doing showmanship. The jackpot in Meeker is June 26, all day. They will show pigs then goats and lambs followed by a steer show.
Beef Club: Nate called the April 11 meeting to order. Stephen led the pledges. Tannen read the minutes and took roll. We broke into groups to do demonstrations. Tannen and Macy talked about breeding beef and pulling calves. Kinzy, Brittney, Lori Ann and Shelby showed us the parts of a stomach. Nate, Megan Smith, Stephen, Lila and Dannon (and Pake) talked about hair and skin condition. Megan Parker, Taylor, Anna and Peyton showed us the parts of the steer and what to look for. Lisa announced that there is a speaking contest for middle school and high school kids. We would like to have a clipping demonstration the second week in June. Lisa will talk to Blaine Franklin and see if he can do it.
