MEEKER | The Barone Middle School held its student council elections in the first week of October. The chosen members for 2018 are: Ruby Holliday, Rylee Howell, Nora Gianinetti, Katie Lockwood, Bella Blazon, Jayde Turner, Ainsley Selle, Spencer Gates, Graycee Cravens, Thomas Curry, Finley Deming and Sam Hightower.
This year we are holding many fundraisers for many great causes, such as a donation to the VFW and the Calaway Young Cancer Center in Glenwood Springs, and also for a new sound system in the middle school.
Student council members will be selling pom-poms on homecoming weekend at volleyball and football games. All proceeds go to the new sound system. Make sure to look out for our ’40s theme float during the homecoming parade. If you would like to donate to our Socktober sock drive, please drop off new socks at the middle school Oct. 15 thru Oct. 31.
The middle school will be holding their annual Veterans Day Assembly on Nov. 12, 2018. All veterans are more than welcome to come and share their stories. Our student council will also be doing several community service projects. Please contact the middle school if there is a project we could help your organization out with.
