MEEKER I Barone Middle School’s eighth-grade volleyball teams won two of three matches Saturday against Craig.
The A and B teams won, while the C team lost.
The C team lost in three games, but “they did some really great things,” said coach Jamie Rogers.
The B team won in three games, taking the last two games from Craig.
“The B team came out really flat and lost their first game, but then came back and fired up,” Rogers said. “They focused on serves and talking to each other on the floor to win the next two.”
The A team won its match in two games.
“I was really excited about the A team’s play,” Rogers said. “They were very focused on making great first passes, which resulted in some great setting and strong hits.”
In seventh-grade action Saturday, the A team won in two games, while the B and C teams lost in two.
