Boettcher Foundation grant to CNCC for $75,000

RANGELY I Colorado Northwestern Community College is one of nine Colorado higher-education institutions to receive a significant boost with the announcement of capital grant awards from the Boettcher Foundation.
The nine institutions were awarded a total of $825,000 for capital projects, and CNCC was awarded $75,000 toward the the renovation and expansion of the 50-year-old Rector Sciences Building in the college’s effort to update the building and add state-of-the-art classroom, laboratory and lecture spaces.
“From classrooms that will train the next generation of scientists to student centers that serve as vital community hubs, these projects represent some of the most innovative and impact-full projects being pursued by the state’s higher-education institutions,” said Tim Schultz, Boettcher Foundation president and executive director. “We are proud to contribute to their progress and look forward to seeing these projects come to fruition.”
The projects selected for funding by the foundation board of trustees represent efforts that contribute to the broad goals of community building, student engagement and workforce and economic development. The impact of these nine projects is expected to extend well beyond the students they serve to have significant positive impact in the communities around them.
“When we determine which projects to fund, we seek out those that fulfill the Boettcher Family’s original mission of improving the lives of Coloradans, and this year’s education grant recipients embody that goal,” Schultz said.
Founded by the Boettcher Family in 1937 to effectively assist, encourage and promote a better quality of life for the citizens of Colorado, the Boettcher Foundation invests in Colorado through “minds and mortar.” The foundation funds scholarships, biomedical research and teacher training, as well as capital grants for non-profit organizations.
