RANGELY I Senior Rangely High School wrestler Patrick Brown remains undefeated for the season at 9-0 and was voted the outstanding wrestler last Friday at the Roosevelt, Utah, duals.
“Brown is on a roll,” head coach Derek Stolworthy said of his heavyweight champ.
The Panthers wrestled Moffat County, Uintah, Union and North Summit and although they did not win any of the duals, coach Stolworthy said they “are gaining crucial mat time.”
Jake Smith won three of his four matches. The Peters brothers, Heath and Chance, along with Michael Parker all went 2-2 in the duals.
Sophomore Lucas Heinle went 4-0 in JV matches and freshman Ethan Allred found 145 to be very tough, not winning a match.
This week the Panthers will wrestle in one of the toughest pre-holiday tournaments in the state, the annual Warrior Classic in Grand Junction, where wrestling will start Friday afternoon.
