The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.
Sept. 4- 10, 2017
For the last week the dispatch center processed 590 phone calls, receiving 32 911 calls, 86 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 156 outgoing phone calls. A total of 183 calls for service were created, 101 for the Sheriff’s Office, 84 for MPD and eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). A total of three auto crashes were reported throughout the county.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 21 traffic stops issuing three summons, while the MPD had 17 stops with two summons.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 17 agency assists, one 911 hang up, two alarms, 10 animal calls, five civil papers served, 10 business checks, four citizen assists, four disturbances, three BLM wildland fires, four motorist assists, four suspicious incidents, seven traffic complaints, four traffic hazards, one VIN and one warrant arrest.
MPD calls included four agency assists, three 911 hang ups, two alarms, 10 animal calls, four business checks, six citizen assists, three civil issues, nine disturbances, one domestic violence, two fraud calls, three harassment, one missing person, three motorist assists, four suspicious incidents, two traffic complaints and three VIN inspections.
There were eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue responding to two ambulance requests, three medical transports, one motor vehicle crash and two wildland fires.
There were three assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in six and released six and currently has 12 inmates.
There were no DUI arrests.
