MEEKER I The Meeker Recreation District and the Meeker Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to provide transportation to the cutting location of the 2012 Capitol Christmas Tree on Friday, Nov. 2. The public is welcome at the cutting site, however, there is limited vehicle space. Persons interested in taking the trip, please call the Meeker Recreation District at 970-878-3403, cost is free, but pre-registration is needed. Because we know that the tree is coming from the White River National Forest, and our local access to the forest is via County Road 8, please expect some delays in the afternoon of Nov. 2 as the tree makes its way into town. The official tree and location will be announced on Monday, Oct. 29. Watch for details as they are released!
