MEEKER I A casting call has been set by the Meeker Arts and Cultural Council for kids in third through eighth grade to play roles in “Shrek, The Musical,” to be performed in Meeker in November.
All parts in the musical need to be filled, and all who audition should come to the casting call prepared to present a memorized song and monologue; only one to two minutes each.
Those who audition may pick from any play or a favorite song.
There will be a speaker for Ipod or MP3 to plug into for your music.
The audition will be held 4 to 6 p.m. at Meeker High School auditorium on Aug. 23.
Technical and stage crew positions are available too, and parents are urged to attend the auditions to help fill out the audition sheets.
As always, parent help is appreciated throughout the process, and, as always, we are asking again this year for a donation of $25-$30 to offset costume costs.
Rehearsals will be held Tuesday evenings at the Meeker High School auditorium from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Friday in the auditorium from noon to 3 p.m.
