Cowboys win three, are Granby champs
MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys traveled to Granby last weekend to participate in the Mountain Parks Electric High Country Invitational tournament. Meeker won all three games it played in the tournament to claim the champion trophy, beating Love Christian, West Grand and Middle Park.
MHS wrestles shorthanded
MEEKER I “It was fun,” Cowboy wrestling coach Joe Gutierrez said of a tournament last Saturday in Kremmling. “We’re starting to gel together.” Because of injury and eligibility, only five wrestlers competed, but Gutierrez said most of the wrestlers traveled to the West Grand tournament.
Loose Ends: Caring and sharing
Recently, the Denver television Channel 9 program “9 Who Care” program focused on Meeker’s own Dave and Enid Steffen. This Christmas Eve will be the last for The Bakery, as the Steffens are retiring and closing the business.

MEEKER I After a loss at home to Olathe, the Meeker girls’ basketball team won three games and the title last weekend in Granby. The Lady Cowboys lost to Olathe on Dec. 15, following the Cowboy Shootout.
