Rangely looks toward regionals

RANGELY I So much for a tuneup before regionals. Tuesday’s dual against top-ranked Altamont, Utah, was canceled. So next up for Rangely’s wrestling team is the regional tournament Feb. 12-13 in Palisade.

Flu bug slows Rangely boys

RANGELY I Several players felt kind of puny last week, as a flu bug spread through the team. Rangely dropped two games — 55-49 to Vail Christian last Friday and 56-41 to Hayden last Saturday.

Pinewood Derby

RANGELY | Rangely Cub Scouts had their pinewood derby Jan. 27 at the LDS Church. The top three finishers were Jonathan Pennell, first place; Tytus Coombs, second place; and Lucas Neal, third place.

Harrington named a Presidential Scholar

RANGELY | J.P. Harrington, a graduating senior at Phillips Academy Andover, has been named one of more than 3,000 candidates in the 2010 Presidential Scholars Program.
