RANGELY I The Rangely Junior High School Panther football team opened up its 2016 season by traveling to Kremmling to take on the Mustangs of West Grand Middle School. Despite a good second half, the Panthers had dug themselves too deep a hole to come all the way back.

RANGELY I The Rangely Junior High School football team started the season off Saturday in Oak Creek against Soroco Middle School. The Panthers left with a 20-0 loss to the Rams.

RANGELY I On a rain-soaked Oct. 9, the Rangely Junior High Panthers football team concluded its season with a win over the Soroco Rams, ending the Panthers season with a 14-12 victory and a 7-1 overall record.

The snowstorm started before the Thursday football game between the Rangely Middle School Panthers and the Barone Middle School Cowboys in Starbuck Stadium but it didn’t prevent them from playing the game under the lights. Meeker won 22-6.

Jr. high teams split contests
RBC I Rangely’s seventh-graders won in a shutout, 37-0, last week against Steamboat Springs, but the eight-graders lost a close one, 14-7. “It went down to the wire, as with most of our games,” coach Tim Webber said of the Rangely eighth-graders.
