Chamber members of the month

MEEKER I The Meeker Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the June members of the month are: Nine Mile Guest Ranch, Williams Production, Horizons Specialized Services and Krule Construction.
Nine Mile Guest Ranch is an outfitting business owned and operated by Rocky and Sparky Pappas. It is first and foremost a hunting business. Nine Mile specializes in private-land big-game hunting for elk and mule deer in northwest Colorado and trophy whitetail deer in eastern Colorado. Their operation, based at the Nine Mile Ranch nine miles north of Meeker, began in 1999. Many of their current hunters have been coming to hunt with them for years and have become good friends as well as customers. Nine Mile Guest Ranch also offers cabin rental through the summer months. For more information on the Pappas’s operation, visit their website at www.NineMileGuestRanch.com.
Williams is currently the largest natural gas producer in Colorado, operating 3,500 wells that produce approximately 700 million cubic feet per day. That’s enough natural gas to meet the daily energy needs of more than 3 million homes. Williams is the 11th largest natural gas producer in the world. On top of that, Williams employs around 300 employees and 2,200 contractors in Western Colorado. Williams joined the Garfield County community in 1983 and began operating in Rio Blanco County in 2004. Williams received two awards in 2010 from the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC). They were also nominated for a COGCC Best Practices Award in Rio Blanco County. Their first well in Western Colorado went online in 1986 and is still producing to this day. Williams then proceeded to develop 400 new natural gas wells in Western Colorado in 2010. Williams spent more than $600 million in new investments in Western Colorado in 2010. Part of their 2010 investments included a new $8 million state-of-the-art local water management facility. For more information, visit www.williams.com.
Horizons was created in 1975 to provide services to children and adults with developmental delays or disabilities in five northwest Colorado counties (Grand, Jackson, Moffat, Rio Blanco and Routt). The central office for Horizons is located in Steamboat Springs and the Rio Blanco branch is located in the Whiteman Building at 685 Main St., Ste. 1, in downtown Meeker. Our employees in Rio Blanco County are Rose Cochran, service coordinator; Natosha Clatterbaugh, speech therapist; and Nancy Cook, direct care counselor.
Horizons offers early intervention, supported living services and family support in Rio Blanco County. Early intervention services for newborn children to age three are provided by therapists in home or at day care centers. Supported living services for adults are provided by counselors in clients’ homes or in the community. Family support provides financial assistance to families to help with extra expenses such as respite care and travel to medical appointments.
Keith and Kim Rule own Krule Construction, LLC, which is a licensed and bonded company, established in 2001. They serve a vast array of customers, with their customer base mainly being commercial/industrial, including oil and gas companies, government agencies and mines. Krule Construction does provide some services to residential and agricultural clients as well. Services Krule Construction provides include earth/dirt work, site preparation, remediation/reclamation, road building/maintenance, hydro-excavation (potholing), wood chipping and grinding, truck hauling (belly dumps, end dumps, flat bed, tandem), hydroseeding, erosion control and snow removal.
