Earlier in April, the Rio Blanco BOCES hosted its annual Children’s Health Fairs in Rangely and Meeker. The fair, run by the BOCES for many years, provides a wide array of services to young children. At the fair, kids from birth to preschool received developmental screenings for hearing, vision, academics, motor and speech abilities. Families also had access to a dental check and local medical teams available to advise parents on various health issues. To make it fun for the young kids, the fair was themed as a circus and kids were given a chance to play games, earn prizes and get faces painted while parents receive developmental information. Those who are ready to begin preschool in the fall were able to register for school at that time as well.
