Brielle Lucero, 4, grins after registering for preschool and completing checkups at the Rio Blanco Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) Children’s Health Fair on Friday in Rangely. More than 50 children attended the annual event, with Meeker’s Children’s Health Fair scheduled for Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fairfield Center. Besides registering children for preschool, the staff checks children’s weight, height, vision, hearing and immunization schedules with referrals made as needed for speech, language or occupational needs. Organizations scheduled to be at Meeker’s health fair include Craig’s Connections 4 Kids, Horizons Specialized Services of Northwest Colorado, the Colorado State Patrol and Colorado Northwestern Community’s College’s Dental Hygiene program.
