MEEKER | The public hearing regarding moving the historic Methodist church building to Ute Park, which requires a revision of the Ute Park master plan by ordinance, was moved to Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m., at Town Hall.
A group of local citizens wanting to save the historic building would like to temporarily move the building west on Park Street, to the east end of Ute Park until a permanent foundation on the west end of Ute Park can be built, hopefully by October 2011.
Town trustees have asked for more details and verification of funds available to cover the costs of the move and maintenance of another building, before deciding if they want to revise the Ute Park master plan, with an ordinance and take ownership of the building.
