RBC | A point of clarification concerning the article in the Sept. 29 Herald Times titled “Taxing error, reduced valuation lead to 83 percent cut for conservation districts.” The article states that taxpayers will be paying a reduced amount in 2016. This statement only applies to those properties that are within the Soil Conservation District boundaries that have personal property (equipment, pipelines, etc.). Soil Conservation Districts cannot receive revenue from personal property. This applies to taxes due in 2016 payable to the County Treasurer in 2017. Please contact the Soil Conservation District if you have questions concerning their district. If you have questions concerning your property contact the County Assessor’s Office.
