NOTICE OF 45 DAY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD – The public is advised to take notice of a 45 day public comment period concerning use of $357,000 of Federal funds in Rio Blanco County reserved for expenditure in accordance with Title III of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000. More specifically, these funds are proposed to be used to update the Community Wildfire Protection Plan of 2006 in regard to notification and evacuation by developing the emergency 9-1-1 system and database to include mapping of county roads, naming roads, locating structures, and improvements of the mapping system. In some instances, address corrections could be required. This work shall take place in fire protection districts that include, abut, or share fire shed with the National Forest. Timeframe for proposed use of reserved funds is January 1, 2011 until fully expended or the legislation of this funding source fails to be extended and unspent reserved funds must be returned to the Treasury of the United States.
