HELP WANTED: FULL TIME Lifeguards: The ERBM Recreation & Park District is seeking applications for one full time benefited and five part time non-benefited lifeguards. Lifeguards are trained professional rescuers who ensure the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies in and out of the aquatic facility. Applicants must be 15 years of age or older; know how to swim; be available for daytime shifts, early morning, evening, split and/or weekend shifts; and be available a minimum of 12 hours per week. As part of the interview process, candidates will be asked to swim 300 yards using crawl stroke and breast stroke, perform a brick dive in the deep end of the pool and tread water for 2 minutes. Candidates do not need to hold a lifeguard certification card as we will train selected candidates on site. Lifeguards are also responsible for performing maintenance and inspection of the facility on a daily basis; reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor(s); monitoring pool water chemistry and filling out required records and reports. Salary range $9.73 – $12.91/hr. Published: December 18 and December 25, 2014 Rio Blanco Herald Times ORDINANCE No. 9, Series 2014 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND CERTIFYING A TEMPORARY MILL LEVY REDUCTION AND LEVYING GENERAL PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2014 TO DEFRAY THE COST OF GOVERNMENT SERVICES FOR THE TOWN OF MEEKER, COLORADO WHEREAS, the Town of Meeker Board of Trustees, the Town Board , on December 9, 2014, adopted an annual budget for the 2015 fiscal year in accordance with the Local Government Budget Law of Colorado; and, WHEREAS, at the Town s regular municipal election on April 1, 2008, the Town s registered electors approved a ballot question authorizing and permitting the Town to collect, retain and spend or reserve all property tax revenue collected, in the amount of the Town s 1999 property tax mill levy (which was 9.781 mills), prior to the Town s approval of its temporary tax credit, which would be effective on January 1, 2009 and, further, authorized the Town to collect and spend or reserve the full revenues from such revenue increase, notwithstanding the restrictions on the collection or spending of revenues under Article X, Section 20 of the Constitution of the State of Colorado, C.R.S. 29-1-301, or any other state law; and, WHEREAS, the Town Board has determined that due to the current economic conditions it would be in the best interests of the Town s citizens and businesses to impose a temporary general fund property tax reduction from the current 9.781 mills and thereby certifying a temporary general fund property tax mill levy of 8.736 mills; and, WHEREAS, the amount of money necessary to balance the budget for general operating expenses is $1,833,146; and, WHEREAS, the Town s 2014 valuation for assessment, as certified by the Rio Blanco County Assessor, is $21,465,030.00; and, WHEREAS, on December 9, 2014, at a special meeting, the Town Board did officially adopt a general fund property tax mill levy of 8.736 mills. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN OF MEEKER BOARD OF TRUSTEES: 1) For the purpose of meeting all general operating expenses of the Town of Meeker, during the 2015 fiscal year, there is hereby levied a tax of 8.736 mills upon each dollar of the total valuation for assessment of all taxable property within the Town of Meeker for the year 2014, which represents a temporary mill levy rate reduction of 1.045 mills from a gross mill levy of 9.781, for the reasons stated above and foregoing. 2) The Town Board forthwith formally certifies to the Board of County Commissioners of Rio Blanco County, Colorado, the 8.762 mill levy and said mill levy will be certified by letter to the Board of County Commissioners of Rio Blanco County, Colorado, on or before December 15, 2014. 3) The mill levy herein approved and adopted by an affirmative vote of a majority of the Town Board shall be signed by the Mayor and made a part of the public records of the Town of Meeker. 4) Pursuant to C.R.S. 29-1-108, this ordinance shall be effective upon adoption.
