Gas Utility Technician/Administrative Assistant
The Town of Rangely owns and operates the natural gas distribution system that supplies natural gas to the residents of Rangely. The Town has a full time position open in the Gas Department. Duties include but are not limited to the following: meter reading, installation and maintenance of gas lines, leak call investigations, work orders, computer tasks, filing, generating reports, etc. This person must have the ability to obtain Operator Qualification through the Department, perform at the gas utility technician level and be able to assist the Gas Department Administrator. The Gas Department falls under federally mandated Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs and Operator Qualification. Prior experience in gas distribution is desirable. The ability to work effectively with one’s coworkers and the public is a must. Valid Colorado Driver’s License required. Applicant must have the ability to perform physical labor as well as the ability to perform in an office setting. Applicant must also be willing to be “On Call” approximately one out of every four weeks upon Operator Qualification. Pre-employment screenings include a physical and a drug screen.
