RBC I The first CNCC National Park Ranger Grand Lake Rotary Club Scholarship was awarded to Kelsey Armour of Englewood, Colo., on behalf of Glenn Harrington on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, during the NPS graduation ceremony.
The Grand Lake Rotary Club was founded in 1951 and serves Grand County of Colorado. In an effort to put “Service above Self,” the Rotary Club of Grand Lake has established scholarships to support and encourage students to continue their education in order to fully develop their potential as productive citizens. Establishment of the National Park Ranger scholarship is on behalf of Glenn Harrington. The first time Glenn was a Park Ranger Naturalist was at Rocky Mountain National Park in 1959. He worked in Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park a number of summers and finished his seasonal employment with the Park Service at Rocky Mountain National Park having served 12 seasons with the Park Service.
Harrington and his wife Melva were present at the graduation ceremony to award Armour the first CNCC National Park Ranger Scholarship.
