RBC I A new logo has started appearing on all Colorado Northwestern Community College publications, ads, documents and signage. A celebration planning committee was formed at the beginning of the year and approved the logo design in January. The 50th anniversary logo will appear in addition to the college’s original logo.
The college opened in fall 1962, admitting a freshman class of 83 students. A dedication ceremony was held on Saturday, Oct. 13 of that year. This year, Oct. 13 also lands on a Saturday, and the planning committee is busy setting up a “Rededication Ceremony” that day, as well as several other events throughout the year.
The logo incorporates the original 1962 seal of the college along with a headline from a dedication ceremony special section of the Rangely Times dated Oct. 11, 1962. The headline read, “Northwest Colorado’s gateway to higher education.” The logo also features the school colors of red and black with the addition of gold numerals to recognize the golden anniversary.
Next month, the CNCC Foundation Dinner Dance will officially kick off the year’s celebration of 50th anniversary events. Planned events include a golf tournament, a board summit, an energy industry appreciation luncheon, a sock hop, casino night, “sips, chips, & scholarships” mixer and open house, as well as various fund raising events.
