RANGELY — This year Rangely’s cross country team may be holding an ace in the hole that no other squad in the league can match — their coaches.
Luke and Erin Geer, who are also physical therapists at Rangely District Hospital, have been called on to oversee the runners this year.
The Geers each hold a PhD in therapy practice and are uniquely qualified to train the team in the rigors of competition and physical maintenance.
This year’s team consists of Hyrum Byers, Devon Rose, Ryan Cramer, Blake Wanstedt, Monica Briggs and Rosalise Coombs. The only downside to this season is that the team will have to travel from Steamboat Springs to Gunnison for all seven of their meets, since they were unable to schedule a home meet.
