Cochran earns Eagle Scout award

Meeker High School junior Collin Cochran, pictured with his scoutmaster Ron Jacobs, recently earned his Eagle Scout Award, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. Cochran will be attending the World Jamboree in Sweden this summer.

MEEKER I Collin Cochran earned the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America, the Eagle Scout Award, March 10. He has been heavily involved in the Boy Scouts for 10 years, working hard and serving in many capacities in both his troop and community.

This summer he will attend the World Jamboree in Sweden where he will be involved in assisting the people of Sweden in community service projects just like he has done in Meeker. His parents, Robert and Kami Cochran are so incredibly proud of him. They would like to thank his Scoutmaster from Troop #223 in Rifle, Ron Jacobs,  and also Ed Arnold for giving their time, knowledge and experience to shape and mold Collin into the fine man that he is becoming.
Collin would again like to thank everyone who assisted him in his Eagle project, whether you gave money or time, or both, he couldn’t have gotten to where he is without those wonderful supporting friends, family, and the citizens of Meeker. Collin still needs donations to fund his Sweden trip. If you would like to donate money, or have a job for Collin to do, please contact Kami Cochran at (970)379-3887.
Collin’s Court of Honor is tentatively scheduled for the end of June.
