From left: Peggy Back, won her first-ever Meeker Women’s Club championship last weekend, and former club champion Lex Collins, who said it has been more than 10 years since he was the club champion, dominated the championship flight to win the title again; Dave Henderson recorded his first-ever hole-in-one on hole No. 2 and finished with the second best net score in the first flight; and Clint Chappell defended his title with the best net score in the first flight.

MEEKER I For the first time in four years, there is a new Meeker Men’s Club champion, a title that now belongs to Lex Collins. And Peggy Back is the 2016 Meeker Women’s Club champion.

Long-time club member Dave Henderson also got his first-ever hole in one.
Eighteen men were divided into two flights, and five women played in the two-day tournament to determine champions after a season of weekly games.
Clint Chappell, who won one of three flights last year, defended his title by winning the first flight this year.
Collins, a former club champion, took the lead after the first day and took the title from three-time defending club champion J.C. Watt, who finished this year with the second best net score. Collins shot a three-under par 65 on Saturday and followed it up with a 70 on Sunday, 11 shots ahead of Kyle Hooks, who finished second.
“I was just happy to beat Kyle,” Collins said. “He’s the man.”
Collins said it has been a while since he was the men’s club champ.
“I haven’t played in all of them, but it has been at least 10 years,” the new champ said.
Sam Etheridge finished with the best net score in the championship flight, one shot better than Watt.
Peggy Back won her first-ever Meeker Women’s Club championship while last year’s champ, Susie Sprod, tied with Jill Massey for the best net score.
Back’s husband, George, finished second to Chappell while Greg Ackerman had the best net score (131), seven shots ahead of Dave “Ace” Henderson, who recorded his first hole-in-one on hole No. 2.
