• Science Friday with Doc Bob. Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Meeker Public Library.

• Halloween Splash Bash. From 1-6 p.m. Friday at the Meeker Rec Center Pool for grades K-8. K-5 swim from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 from 4-6 p.m. $3 per child. 970-878-3403; www.MeekerRecDistrict.com

• Pumpkins, Eats & Treats. From 3-6 p.m. Saturday on the Courthouse lawn in Meeker. Trick-or-treating, haunted house and costume contest. 970-878-3403; www.MeekerRecDistrict.com

• 3rd annual Zombie Run. 10 a.m. Saturday at Sanderson Hills Park. Run through the lower portion of the trails in the Dorcas Jensen Memorial Park and avoid the zombies! Non-timed, free color run! 10 and under are invited to participate. 970-878-3402; www.MeekerRecDistrict.com

• Meeker Shooting Range. The range will be closed through Nov. 15. Sight-in days will be Oct. 29 and 30 as well as Nov. 10. The range will be open for sight-in only from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

• The Meeker Library Bookclub meets at 1 p.m. the second Monday of each month (excluding holidays). The next meeting with be Nov. 9. We will be discussing “The Men Who United the States” by Simon Winchester. All interested readers are welcome. Stop by the Meeker Library for details.

• Adult Pickleball. From 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays in the Admin Gym at the Meeker Rec Center. Adults, come and give it your best shot at Pickleball—a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis!

• Game Day. Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at the Meeker Recreation Center Lounge for adults 50+. Stop by for refreshments, conversation and a game of cards.

• Children’s Story Hour. Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the Meeker Public Library.

• Movie Matinee. 10 a.m. Nov. 2 at the Meeker Public Library. This month’s free movie feature is “Forrest Gump.” 970-878-3403; www.MeekerRecDistrict.com

• Quilting Group. Tuesday evenings 6-9 p.m. White River Electric Public Meeting room. Bring your sewing machine and project.

• Gentlemen’s Group. Tuesdays at 9 a.m. at the Meeker Recreation Center Lounge for adults 50+. Stop by for refreshments and conversation.

• New HopeWest Information Seminar. HopeWest is offering an information seminar Nov. 4 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Richards Hall, 368 4th St. in Meeker, for those who have lost a loved one and would like more information on how to cope. Everyone in the community is invited to attend this seminar, a free community service offered by HopeWest. For more information about this meeting please call the HopeWest office at 970-878-9383.

• Meeker Gift and Craft Show. Friday, Nov. 6 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds. Questions: call Michelle Weston at 970-878-5563.
