MEEKER I The Colorado Department of Human Services’ Division of Child Care, in collaboration with other community partners, is hosting an early childhood provider recruitment meeting in Meeker next week.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 in the downstairs meeting room at Meeker Town Hall, 345 Market St.
Community members interested in becoming licensed to provide child care either in their home or a center setting are invited and encouraged to attend to learn about licensing requirements and the process to become a licensed provider. In addition, staff from the Rio Blanco County Department of Social Services, the Family Development Center’s Child Care and Newborn Networks, and Connections 4 Kids early childhood council will present about their services and offerings for licensed providers. The event will also include a question-and-answer period.
“We are hopeful prospective licensed providers will join us for more information about the licensing process,” said Sharon Kelly, licensing worker for the Division of Child Care. “We represent the resources available to providers and we hope they take advantage of the fact that we’re all going to be in the same place at the same time. Providers can get their questions answered.”
Parents are also welcome to attend. For more information, call Sharon Kelley at 879-1948.
