this weekend
MEEKER — Fifteen members of the Meeker High School basketball program traveled to Alamosa for a team camp at Adams State College June 11-14. The Cowboys will take a team to Denver this weekend for another camp.
Meeker put a varsity and JV team on the courts in Alamosa and played more than 20 games between the two teams. The varsity won six of 11 games and the JV won three of 12.
“It was the first time we went to this camp and the competition was very good,” head coach Klark Kindler said. According to Kindler, Meeker played teams from Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, as well as Colorado.
Traveling to Alamosa were Dakota Rowlett, Clinton Kilduff, Brian Crowe, Ryan Wix, Tyler and Trevor Matrisciano, Seth Boesch, Jake Nieslanik, Colton Brown, Toby Casias, Cole Steiner, Ever Olivas, Spencer Madison, Trey Morris and Ceasar Lopez.
“The kids have really improved over our two team camps so far this summer,” Kindler said.
Meeker will take a varsity team to compete at the Gold Crown camp this weekend in Denver.
