MEEKER | It was a busy week for the number 10 ranked lady Cowboys softball team, with four games all on the road. On Sept. 11 they traveled to Basalt to play the Longhorns in a tough match losing 9-6.
Thursday found them traveling to Rifle to play the 4A Bears. Coming up short one run, 11-12, it was a battle to the end.
One the road Friday for a split doubleheader with Limon Badgers on Saturday, the team came home 1-1 on the weekend. Losing the first game but winning the second the teams were well-matched in play.
This week the Cowboys have four home conference games. Thursday a doubleheader hds Meeker hosting the Aspen Skiers at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., and then Saturday another doubleheader hosted by Meeker with the Delta Panthers begins at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Stats on individual players and team performance had not been posted as of press time Wednesday.
