RANGELY | Earlier this week Rangely Junior/Senior High School announced the results of their principal search for the 2017/2018 school year. The district will be offering the job to current Assistant Principal Crandal Mergelman.
“I am excited to move into the principal position here at Rangely Jr./Sr. High school. We have a great staff and great students to work with here at the school,” said Mergelman.
Mergelman, who is in his 11th school year with the Rangely School District, has held the position of assistant principal and athletic director for the last three years. Prior to that he was the agriculture teacher and FFA advisor.
Mergelman’s wife Jimmie, who grew up in the Meeker area, is also a teacher at the school, running the computer and business classes along with the FBLA program.
Mergelman received his associates degree from Northeastern Junior College in agriculture education, his bachelors degree from Colorado State University in agriculture education, and his masters degree from Colorado Mesa University in educational leadership.
